My new violin

Hello new blog! I named you after a line from my favorite television program. I'm not a lawyer, nor do I play one on tv. I love Joannie, but just as a friend. Charles is SO not the boss of me.

Now that that's done, on with the real subject of the blog: the violin I've had for 18 hours. I got it yesterday after work, I took my first lesson at 7 PM. I'm now the proudest 31 year old beginning violinist in the whole wide world. I learned to play "twinkle twinkle little star" last night. And I discovered that once I had the fingering for the A and E string, I could move it over one string and it transposes the tune to a different key. I don't know which key because I was too lazy to ever figure out that stuff during all my years of piano lessons. Maybe I'll make that theory stick as an adult.

It doesn't sound nearly as bad as I thought it would.

I'm just so excited. I can't wait to get home and practice. (Why was it never this way when I was a kid and had my parents bankrolling my music lessons?)
